Commiphora myrrha Wildcrafted, Resin, Somalia
Myrrh has long been valued both in religious ceremonies and medicinally. This warm, rich, spicy, camphoraceous scent is distilled from the resin of a shrub native to eastern Africa. The Egyptians used Myrrh for embalming. They also used it to make healing unguents especially for cracked and irritated skin, wrinkle and burned it as incense. The ancient Hebrews drank it with their wine to raise consciousness. The Romans and Greeks put it in healing salves and ointments. May be effective for gum and mouth infections.*
